Heh, I know this was a long time in coming... well, okay, I won't say your name, but wonderful awesome friend of mine :iconpaws-for-a-moment:. I got sidetracked with that one contest entry, and I apologize. And then I of course needed to make this perfect- well, in my eyes anyway, I know it must look like crap anyway.. But I tried so hard to make this something you would like!!!

So yeah, Alkene is up in a nest with his(or her? I'm not sure actually...) two little baby hawk friends. I know, weird. My mother thought it weird. But it isn't impossible! So, Alkene is up there napping, and ...he, let's just go with that... and one baby hawk are sleeping, against each other. The other one is looking off onto the horizon on the right(not the horizon in the back mind you, but they're high up, so sky is all around) at something. Maybe waiting for the parents to come back. It's supposed to be sunset. I don't know what the nest is made of, so I just drew it as best I could- but I decided for the tree, I was going to have them be in one of those crazy desert ones. You know, the ones with all the twisty, bare branches, that you sometimes see in pictures of Australia? I know that these types of hawks don't live in Australia, but I don't know, right from when I drew it way back, I knew I wanted that type of tree and that was it.

I hope you like it!!! :)

I like the way you did the tree bark...and the insane colors of the sunset! (Like I said before, you definitely shouldn't give up color. :D) The sunset really feels like a sunset, which is great. I think it's something I've never pulled off... Sometimes colors aren't my strongest area. |D

I have to say Alkene and the hawk seem more like cuddling to me...since I'd believe they wouldn't..umm....exert their neck like that if they were sleeping. Heh, if I were to draw a sleeping feline and a hawk, I'd have to look for tons of reference, but I think it's like that... They'd be lying more flat. (But that would probably make it troublesome to draw...tricky viewing from up perspective would have to be used.....)
