I'm the one on the right. This is with Naxul Cosplay, also as The Pioneer(center), although she did a different version than me because I really loved the green trim version. And I didn't use a wig because my hair is the color of the character's...but since it was real hair, it was heavy and pushing the collar down, so I also decided to do the Russian hat/braids version and Naxul did the tricorner hat version because that was the one Ubisoft gave her the reference image for. I would've doen the tricorner hat, loose hair but...that wasn't happening. And her friend Rachael made an amazing Independent.
Naxul told me her costume took over 5 weeks. I was all crazy though after finishing the Thor outfit in 5 DAYS, so I was like psh, I can do this in time for Katsu if I start right after Christmas, and I'll have time to do my LOTR costume and Sakizou costume too. Yeahhhh. Well, this took 5 1/2 weeks for me too. I had to frantically scramble and make my entire LOTR costume in 5 days. Not sure how I did that...
But seriously, this costume came out amazing. Naxul looks kind of badass here(okay, actually in every photo ever, and she has a really pretty face too) so I think I'm kind of shown up, but in reality I was really proud of this. Everything was exact to the reference images I had, no cutting corners or anything or having to do my own take on it. After months of no sunlight and my hair looking darker at the top, a few weeks of frantic being in the sun and stuff got my hair back to the perfect color for the character- so I didn't have to spend money I didn't have on a wig and be all sweaty all day either. I actually got the damned collar to stand up, even after being told it was impossible. I made boot covers(not the entire boot, but whatever) and glove covers for the first time ever which was cool and means I didn't ruin the boots or gloves. And that rifle was so awesome.
So overall, just a very enjoyable costume and one I felt great in. Even Ms. Fischer acting like I don't exist and was a non-human when I said hi when she butted into a conversation with a friend of mine didn't really get me down. I mean, I kind of knew how she was already, it just proved my point. And whatever, I did look good, and I did do a DAMN good job of replicating the character.
Let me know what you think!!! And hopefully soon we'll be having our on-location shoot for AC3 as well(as well because I mentioned the Avengers one in the other photo I posted tonight).
I know, isn't it?! That's why I really wanted photos with Cassy, I thought it was so cool to compare the 2 designs side by side, because they really are so different. That plus Cassy is really nice and just an overall awesome person o I was of course inviting her to be in my photoshoot with her friend. Anyway, thanks!! I'm glad you like our costumes. Lol, she really wasn't joking when she said this costume takes foreverrrrr to make.
And yeah, I love all the different textures too. But they were such a hassle to make, lol. That white wrap skirt with the brown zigzag designs and stuff, omg so time consuming, that alone took like a week becaise of having to cut or stitch all those designs.
