'The Most Beautiful Girl..'

Well, you all know how I submitted this before, thanks to that amazingly kind and awesome guy at college letting me use his printer. But it looked screwed up, so I felt embarrassed.. My sis just got internet back yesterday, and so I can now use her scanner again! It isn't much better than before, admittedly, but it is better- not lopsided anymore, and a bit darker and clearer. Though you still can't see any of my shading on the buildings, tables, windows.. etc. But oh well!


Anyways, on to the artwork description! This is my entry for the club contest. That's what inspired me to draw this, and that one chapter where he's talking to Ino seemed perfect.

You may notice that this style is a bit dfferent than my usual. It looks sorta like an actual manga, and I didn't color it *gasp*! This was the first time I tried a pic- outside of this summer's drawing class- that I didn't color. I thought it looked dark enough, but seemingly it isn't, since I didn't compensate for the scanner making it lighter. Next time I try this, I will go over everything with either pen or Sharpie. But hey, it was my first try in this style, kinda like 'testing the water', so my screwing up is okay.

Also, whether you've noticed or not, I think my drawing skill has improved quite a bit! Yay, I'm finally proud of my progress!! True, Shika and Chouji look like crap, but I hurried like heck to draw them, and could have cared less how they came out. They weren't important to the plot of my little comic. And I personally think Ino is an ugly, sorta fat, bitch. My little sis was complaining that I didn't draw her right- that I made Ino look ugly... But in my eyes, she is, and I did her complete justice.


But yeah... So, you're all probably wondering what the hell is going on in this pic. Well, after Ino was completely charmed and swept off her feet by Sai, and his 'amazing way with words', she proposed that they hang out again sometime. Sai didn't know what the hell she meant, but after asking Sakura and Naruto later, Sakura explained that Ino wanted him to take her on a date- ya know, treat her to dinner, or a movie or something. So, they finally wound up going out to the most expensive restaurant in the village one evening, sometime later that week. And that's where this little comic takes place- about a quarter of the way through their meal, just after they've ordered and had appetizers.
Naruto, Shikamaru, and Chouji weren't spying on them- they just happened to be walking by, and saw Ino and all the destruction she'd wrought through the broken window of the restaurant on their way to the ramen shop, and then the BBQ place Chouji loves. And yes, Ino is attempting to stab Sai- with a table knife- but don't worry, I'm sure he can defend himself so that he'll only be maimed, not killed- or not. 'Love hath no fury like a woman's scorn.' And damn does she hate him now....
